kurt flew me out to visit him as a birthday gift this year. between the botanic gardens, the denver zoo, and a hike up to royal arch, i can hardly imagine a better tour. can’t wait to return.
unfortunately not pictured—we visited a 5,000-year-old salt mine that provided a lot of hilarious moments, such as: long mine slides, unflattering mine clothes, and a sound system that only played a woman creepily whispering the word salt in german
these are some shots from the area around fussen, germany. my highlight is kurt’s expression as we’re crossing a walking bridge between two mountain castle ruins.
these are random shots along the road to salzburg through a series of little german towns that were marketed in the fifties as the "romantic road" to increase tourism. also i included the only non-blurry image i got from the hofbraü haus in munich.
these albums are a little out of order. this set is actually the first place i went after meeting up with my family in frankfurt. they were all pretty jet-lagged but in good spirits.
my mom visited here in college, and we were able to stay in the same hotel where she stayed then. we also got lucky and visited the week they had federweisser, a seasonal drink made from fermented grapes that tasted somewhere between beer, wine, and cider—but somehow in a good way.
equipped with a new card for my camera, brian and i toured the city with his friend luis. you'll note that i documented brian's highly anticipated currywurst. we also had a guided tour by the creator of a bizarre little museum called design panoptikum.
my trip began in amsterdam with my good friend brian. sadly, my memory card failed the day we left for berlin, so these are just a few shots i saved beforehand.
i went to southern indiana for work, took the camera along for fun.
i adopted a cat.
he's got mitten paws because he was born with a bunch of extra toes.
please note the wren attacking me at the end.
it took us almost an hour to walk all the way out to this plane crash, but the trip was worth it.
these are basalt columns. they formed out of the cooling lava. super weird.
